I know, crazy shoes right? Well my brother one day bought me these shoes thinking I'd wear them all the time and truthfully... I never wore them. Until I decided to cosplay Kairi, I remembered these guys, and dug them out of my closet! :D Let the revamping process begin<3
Just a little preview of my work area XD This is on the floor of my room. I had taken the laces out of the shoes and cleaned them off with a damp paper towel. Other things in the photo are: acrylic paints, my Hello Kitty blow dryer, a large cherry Pepsi from Taco Bell, paint brushes, iPad reference pictures, water, and a paint tray :3
Since these shoes are black, I started out by priming the canvas with white acrylic paint. (Both shoes) Unfortunately the front part of the shoe is a weird textured plastic, so it didn't really take the white paint well and it started chipping and stuff. So I ended up using a white stretch on the front with hot glue. But note: hot glue doesn't work very well on areas that are flexible and bend a lot. I'm probably going to redo it with Gorilla Glue or something ><
Moved locations to my family room :P And both shoes painted white and dried with the blow dryer :D
I'm trying to make these captions longer but to be honest, the picture kinda says everything. I mixed purple paint with white paint to get a lilac colour, then painted the shoe like the reference picture...
Both shoes done. Tip: After getting the paint all over the eyelets, I used a damp bounty to wipe it off and touched up the paint (very carefully) Orz;; This part was really frustrating.
This is my interpretation of how Kairi ties her shoes. Then after that both laces cross in front of the ankle then are wrapped around and tied in the front. It's pretty derpy but I'm pretty sure that's how she ties her shoes. TA~DA~
